Collection: Džeko Hodžić

Džeko Hodžić (born 1950 in Godijevo near Bijelo Polje, Montenegro) is a Bosnian painter and academic known for his expressive and symbolically rich works. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Peć in 1970 and the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 1977. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1980, and is also affiliated with art associations in Germany and Sandžak.

Hodžić has held 84 solo exhibitions and participated in 587 group exhibitions across Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally, including in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Sweden, Canada, and the United States. His works are part of numerous museum and private collections.

He has received 13 awards for his artistic achievements, including the Grand Prix for drawing at the “Anale crteža” exhibition in Mostar, the “Premio Mandraccio” international award in Opatija, and the Silver Snowflake of the Sarajevo Winter Festival. His art often reflects themes of cultural identity, memory, and social commentary.

Hodžić lives and works in Sarajevo.
