Collection: Elena Begma

Elena Begma (born 1984 in Russia) is a contemporary painter who lives and works in Zeuthen, Germany. Born into a family of artists, she developed a passion for painting early in life, which led her to formal studies at the Surikov State Academic Art Institute in Moscow.

Begma’s work is rooted in academic figurative traditions, often exploring themes such as dance, religion, history, and human emotion. She is particularly known for her portraits of ballerinas from the Bolshoi Ballet and a series of paintings dedicated to the Orthodox Church. Her style combines classical techniques with modern experimentation, using oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and mixed media. She frequently incorporates gold, silver, and varnish into her compositions to create unique visual effects.

In Zeuthen, she runs her own studio and gallery under the name “Elena Begma Kunsthaus,” where she exhibits a wide range of works including still lifes, landscapes, nudes, and monochromatic figures. Her art reflects a deep engagement with cultural diversity and aims to offer viewers new perspectives on beauty, time, and spirituality.
