Collection: Ilya Komov

Ilya Komov (b. 1965, Moscow) is a Russian painter known for his spiritually resonant works inspired by ancient Russian mural traditions and early 20th-century Russian avant-garde art. He graduated from the Moscow Middle Art School in 1983 and the Moscow State Art Institute named after Surikov in 1989. Komov has been exhibiting his work since 1987, both in Russia and internationally.

His artistic style reflects influences from masters such as Natalia Goncharova, Nicolas de Staël, and Serge Poliakoff. Komov’s work often explores themes of light, color harmony, and spiritual symbolism. He has undertaken creative expeditions, including a notable project in India titled Russian Portrait of India, which was nominated for a Silver Medal by the Russian Academy of Arts.

Komov lives and works in Moscow and Central Russia, but his paintings also reflect impressions from travels across Europe, including Montenegro, Paris, and Catalonia.
