Collection: Ivana Živić
Ivana Živić, born in 1979 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a Serbian-Bosnian visual artist known for her distinctive underwater-themed paintings. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade in 2004, specializing in painting, and completed her postgraduate studies at the same institution in 2008.
Her work is characterized by a unique blend of realism, fantasy, and montage, often depicting submerged interiors populated by solitary swimmers. These dreamlike compositions explore emotional depth, introspection, and the symbolic resonance of water as a medium of memory and transformation.
Živić has held over 20 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 50 group exhibitions both in Serbia and internationally. Her artistic residencies include the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2009), GLO’ART in Belgium (2015), and Serbian Art Month in Abu Dhabi (2018). She has received several awards, including the Vladimir Veličković Fund Prize for Drawing (2016), the Rotary Club Award (2014), and the Mangelos Fund Award for Production Work (2012).
She lives and works in Belgrade, continuing to develop her poetic visual language through painting, drawing, and installation.
