Collection: Konstantin Gorbunov

Konstantin Gorbunov (born 1967 in Kostroma, Russia) is a Russian painter known for his commitment to the tradition of realistic painting. He studied at the Art School in Kostroma and later became an Associate Professor at the Department of Academic Drawing, a position he has held since 2006. His work is deeply influenced by his early exposure to art through his father, also an artist, and by the natural and architectural beauty of his native region, including the Volga River and historic Russian towns.

Gorbunov’s artistic practice emphasizes painting from life, capturing the atmosphere of the Russian landscape and urban scenes with a classical sensibility. He continues to teach and exhibit, contributing to the preservation and evolution of academic realism in contemporary Russian art.
