Collection: Miki Trendafilovski

Miki Trendafilovski, born in 1958 in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, is a Macedonian painter known for his expressive and symbolically rich visual language. He has lived and worked as an independent artist in Kumanovo for decades. His first solo exhibition was held in 1981 in Priština, during his military service in the former Yugoslavia. Since then, he has held over 27 solo exhibitions in cities across the region, including Skopje, Bitola, Ohrid, Niš, Kragujevac, and Jagodina, and participated in numerous international art colonies and group exhibitions.

Trendafilovski’s work spans landscapes, still lifes, portraits, icons, and drawings, and he has explored a wide range of painting techniques in search of a personal artistic signature. He often uses symbolism as a central expressive tool, aiming to convey emotion and perspective through form, color, and balance. His style has been described as “analytical constructivism,” a term coined by curator Mira Bojkić.

In the last two decades, he has also served as artistic director of several international art colonies and cultural events in North Macedonia, including “Karpino,” “Macedonian Icon,” “Petrovden Evenings,” “Art Variations,” and “Stari Potok.” He views painting as a deeply personal journey, shaped by his own worldview and emotional experience.
