Collection: Miodrag Miško Petrović
Miodrag Miško Petrović (born in 1946, Serbia) is a Serbian academic painter whose work spans over four decades, characterized by a deep exploration of the human form, particularly the divine and unique beauty of the female body. He graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1975, studying under Professors Stojan Ćelić and Ljubica Sokić.
Petrović has held more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in over 300 group exhibitions both in Serbia and abroad. He has been a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 1976 and served as its president from 2003 to 2007.
His artistic style evolved from soft sfumato pastels to vibrant, dynamic compositions, often incorporating elements of op art and mosaic-like structures. Despite the abstract tendencies, his work maintains a strong figurative foundation, reflecting a personal, meditative approach. His paintings—whether portraits, genre scenes, landscapes, or nudes—are marked by harmony, emotional depth, and a distinctive visual rhythm.
Petrović’s works are part of numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, the Museum of the City of Belgrade, Atelje 212, Dom Vojske Srbije, and the Gallery of Contemporary Art of Montenegro. He lives and works in Belgrade, continuing to contribute to the Serbian art scene with his rich visual language and philosophical approach to painting.
