Collection: Murad Allahverdiyev
Murad Allahverdiyev is an Azerbaijani painter and academic born in 1960 in Baku. He studied at the A. Azimzade Art College from 1975 to 1979 and later graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Fine Arts in Ukraine in 1988. Upon returning to Baku in 1989, he began teaching at the State Institute of Art and later joined the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts in 2000, where he earned the title of Associate Professor in Applied Arts in 2004.
Allahverdiyev has been a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR and Azerbaijan since 1991, and of the International Association of Art (IAA) Europe since 1987. He has held over 10 solo exhibitions, including shows in Lviv, Warsaw, Budapest, Baku, Tehran, Stockholm, Moscow, Paris, Vienna, and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. His work spans impressionism, post-impressionism, and cubism, often using classical oil painting techniques.
Since 2007, he has lived and worked in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, where he teaches at Near East University. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Professor. His contributions to art have been recognized with awards such as the “Artist of the Year” sculpture (2018) and the Fergani Award (2020).
