Collection: Nikola Žigon
Nikola Žigon is a Serbian painter born in 1958 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Son of the renowned actor Stefan Žigon, Nikola spent much of his early life immersed in theater and the arts. He began formal art studies at the age of 30 and graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he specialized in Drawing, Video Art, and Art Installations.
In 2000, Žigon lived and worked in Paris, a period that marked a turning point in his artistic development. Upon returning to Belgrade, he fully dedicated himself to painting. His style blends elements of abstract impressionism, often incorporating textures, letters, and architectural fragments reminiscent of ancient structures. His works are characterized by a dominant white patina contrasted with vibrant blocks of color.
Žigon has exhibited at prestigious venues including the Museum of Modern Art in Belgrade, the Prom Gallery in Munich, and the Yugoslav Cultural Center in Paris. He is a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia).
