Collection: Svetlana Demkina
Svetlana Demkina, born in 1951 in the Donetsk region, is a contemporary Russian artist known for her work in painting, monumental art, sculpture, ceramics, and design. She graduated with honors from the Moscow Art and Industrial College and the Moscow Higher Industrial Art School, receiving comprehensive formal training in the visual arts.
She lives and works in Krasnodar, Russia, and has had a long and active artistic career, with her works exhibited both in Russia and internationally. Her art is held in museums and private collections in countries including the United States, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, and Cyprus.
Her work is characterized by unique artistic solutions, vivid imagery, and a personal visual language. Demkina’s style often balances expressive volumes, original color schemes, and a dynamic interplay between painting and graphics, combining elements of epic and lyrical expression and merging traditional and avant-garde approaches.
In addition to her artistic practice, she is active in teaching and cultural leadership. She serves as chairperson of the Creative Union of Artists of the Kuban and is a professor at the North Caucasus Federal University, contributing to both artistic production and art education.
