Andrej Smolák (born 1953 in Starina, Slovakia) is a Slovak painter, gallerist, and cultural organizer. He is known for his chamber paintings, watercolor landscapes, and expressive portraits. Over the course of his career, Smolák has created more than 6,000 paintings, including several hundred portraits of both unknown individuals and prominent personalities.

Since 1982, he has held over 70 solo exhibitions across Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. His works are part of collections in Europe, the USA, Japan, China, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Australia.

Smolák’s artistic style is marked by a distinctive approach to female portraiture, where he avoids idealized beauty and instead captures individuality and emotion. His paintings are dynamic, with flowing colors and poetic compositions. He also excels in watercolor, having produced over 2,000 works in this medium.

In addition to his painting career, Smolák is the founder and director of the Andrej Smolák Gallery in Snina (established in 1993) and Bratislava (since 1998). He is a laureate of the World Prize of Salvador Dalí, a member of the International Academy of Culture and Art in Moscow, and the founder of the International Fine Art Festival in Snina.
