Collection: Ethem Baymak

Ethem Baymak (born March 10, 1952, in Prizren, Kosovo) is a multifaceted Turkish-Kosovar artist, poet, and writer. He graduated from the Prizren Advanced Academy of Pedagogy and worked for 25 years as a journalist in radio and print media in Prizren. Alongside his literary career, Baymak has been active in painting for over three decades.

He is recognized as one of the leading Turkish painters of the Balkans, having held around fifty solo exhibitions across Yugoslavia, Turkey, and various European countries including Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Austria. His works are part of private and museum collections in the USA, EU, and Turkey.

Baymak has authored 24 original books spanning poetry, essays, criticism, biography, and children’s literature. His poems have been translated into six languages, and several of his plays were broadcast on radio and television in the 1980s. He also lectures on art history at the University of Pristina and serves as the president of the Kosovo Turkish Artists Association, as well as the head of the regulatory board of the international “Awakening Arts” festival.

He continues to work independently in his studio in Kosovo.
