Collection: Jelena Kršić

Jelena Kršić, born on May 20, 1968, in Maribor (then Yugoslavia), is a Serbian visual artist known for her work in sculpture, drawing, and photography. She moved to Belgrade at the age of seven, where she completed her education, including high school for Film and Theater Production. In 1988, she began her studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the sculpture class of Professor Nikola Koka Janković, and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 1993.

Her early career was shaped by the turbulent political and social climate of the former Yugoslavia. She became active in the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade, where she explored experimental and performative art. Notable performances include Virus Part I and Virus Part II (2017), which examined public perception, manipulation, and societal behavior through interactive installations.

Between 1995 and 2007, Jelena withdrew from the contemporary art scene, focusing on studio work and raising her daughters. In 2007, she returned with the exhibition On Certain Solitude, showcasing bronze sculptures that explore emotional complexity and introspection. Her work often reflects themes of solitude, identity, and psychological depth.

Jelena Kršić is a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 1995 and has exhibited in Serbia and internationally. She is also the founder of Art Salon Belgrade and author of the novel Veliko spremanje.
