Collection: Miroslav Živković

Miroslav Živković (1934–2009) was a Serbian painter and a prominent representative of naïve art. He was born in the village of Gornje Krnjino near Pirot, where he lived and worked until his death. Živković began painting in 1955, drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes, customs, and folklore of his native region, particularly the Stara Planina mountain.

His works are known for their poetic expression, refined sense of color and tone, and unique technique of applying paint to create textured surfaces. He often blended fantasy with nature, creating dreamlike scenes filled with symbolism and emotion.

Živković exhibited both solo and in group shows in Serbia and abroad. He received numerous awards at the Biennials of Naïve Art, including the Grand Prize in 1995 and a lifetime achievement award in 1999. The largest collection of his works is housed at the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art in Jagodina, Serbia.
